Any student who is interested in going to college should be interested in taking AP® Courses. In the words of College Board®, "...[They are the] nation’s largest college-going organization, helping millions of students navigate the transition from high school to college each year through programs like the SAT®, AP®, and BigFuture®" (). AP® Courses are designed by College Board® and introduce high school students to college-level texts and tasks. These classes teach them advanced organizational and critical thinking skills, as well as prepare them for greater success at institutions of higher learning. Students may also earn free college credits, and potentially gain exclusive access to scholarships and grants.
Our goal at Bowne is to make college-level coursework, like AP® Courses, accessible to all Bowne students. To help students succeed in these courses, in addition to the traditional teacher and peer support groups, we partner with Equal Opportunity Schools® (EOS), Elevate Education®, and OneGoal® to provide them with the supports necessary for success in these classes and beyond.
